Beyond the Classroom

At Assisi Catholic College, learning is not limited to the classroom. Our holistic approach to education recognises that students flourish in diverse settings — whether they’re performing on stage, solving strategic challenges, or connecting through shared interests.  Our co-curricular program encourages students to explore their passions, uncover new talents, and grow in confidence. These experiences enrich personal development, strengthen social connections, and contribute to a vibrant and inclusive College community.

Cultural

Cultural pursuits are a valued part of life at Assisi. Students are encouraged to immerse themselves in the performing arts through our instrumental music program, drama opportunities, and the College musical — a much-anticipated event that brings our community together in a celebration of creativity and collaboration.  Whether playing in an ensemble, performing on stage, or working behind the scenes, students develop discipline, teamwork and artistic expression in a supportive environment.

Academic

Academic enrichment extends beyond the classroom through opportunities such as Debating and Public Speaking, where students can refine their communication skills, build confidence, and engage in critical thinking. These activities promote respectful dialogue, persuasive argumentation and self-expression, preparing students for success both at school and beyond.

Special Interest

Assisi students can also engage in a variety of special interest groups that cater to different skills and passions. Opportunities such as the Chess Club and other enrichment activities allow students to challenge themselves, think creatively, and connect with like-minded peers.  These groups nurture curiosity and provide space for students to grow beyond the traditional curriculum, offering meaningful ways to build friendships and develop a strong sense of identity and belonging.

Sporting Opportunities

Sport at Assisi Catholic College follows a developmental pathway that recognises the changing needs and interests of students as they move through each phase of schooling. Age‑appropriate programs across Early Years, Junior Years, Middle Years, and Senior Years ensure all students are supported to grow in confidence, skill, and their enjoyment of physical activity.

Catholic Colleges Sport (CCS) Model

Our sport program operates under the Catholic Colleges Sport (CCS) model, a collaborative initiative involving Assisi, Aquinas, St Michael’s, and St Joseph’s Colleges. This model features six cluster days throughout the year, offering students a mix of sporting, cultural, and social justice activities to choose from.

  • Years 7–10: Students participate in their selected activity on cluster days.
  • Years 11–12: Students are not required to attend school on these days.

This approach promotes engagement and attendance by providing a broader range of meaningful experiences.
