Performing Arts

At Assisi, Music is an integral part of the Performing Arts, offering students opportunities to explore creativity, develop confidence and perform with purpose. Through a broad range of co‑curricular ensembles, tuition and performance experiences, students are supported to grow as musicians and performers at every stage of their journey.

Our Music program complements classroom learning by providing authentic performance opportunities, specialist instruction and clear pathways for students with an interest in the performing arts.

Learning, Growth and Pathways

Participation in co‑curricular Music supports students to:

  • Develop artistic identity and self‑expression
  • Build confidence, teamwork and resilience through performance
  • Strengthen communication and public speaking skills
  • Access pathways to senior study, including Music in Years 11 and 12 (subject to minimum numbers), and post‑school options through TAFE or university in areas such as Sound Production, Musical Theatre and Music Performance

Students work with professional‑grade instruments, contemporary recording technologies and experienced tutors, enabling them to engage with Music in authentic and meaningful ways.

Middle and Senior Years Bands

Students rehearse weekly and receive expert mentoring in contemporary styles including pop, rock and funk. The program focuses on musicianship, ensemble skills and confident stage performance, with regular opportunities to perform at College and community events.
