Catholic Colleges Sport (CCS) Model

Our sport program operates under the Catholic Colleges Sport (CCS) model, a collaborative initiative involving Assisi, Aquinas, St Michael’s, and St Joseph’s Colleges. This model features six cluster days throughout the year, offering students a mix of sporting, cultural, and social justice activities to choose from.

  • Years 7–10: Students participate in their selected activity on cluster days.
  • Years 11–12: Students are not required to attend school on these days.

This approach promotes engagement and attendance by providing a broader range of meaningful experiences.

Interschool Sport - Years 5 & 6

The Years 5 and 6 interschool sport program provides students with opportunities to represent the College, develop physical skills, and build teamwork in a supportive and inclusive environment. The program encourages confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of school pride.

Program Structure
  • Students participate in three full competition days each year, travelling off‑campus during school hours to compete against other schools before returning to campus for afternoon dismissal
  • A parent information session and early‑season training opportunities are offered to support preparation
Sport Offerings

All sports are offered as mixed teams, promoting collaboration and positive participation. Sports may include:

  • Netball
  • Rugby League
  • Soccer
  • Touch Football
  • Basketball

Team allocations are based on student numbers and safety requirements. While student preferences are considered, placement in a preferred sport cannot be guaranteed. Participation in interschool sport is viewed as a privilege and is supported by positive behaviour, effort, and attitude at school.

What Students Gain

Through interschool competition, students develop teamwork, respect, persistence, and fair play, while strengthening healthy habits and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.

Additional Sporting Opportunities (Prep-Year 6)

To ensure all students experience meaningful physical development and a strong sense of community, the College offers a range of age‑appropriate carnivals and events.

Years P-2
  • Sports Day – Term 3
  • Swimming Carnival – Term 4

These events focus on participation, confidence building, and the development of fundamental movement skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Years 3-6
  • Swimming Carnival – Term 1
  • Athletics Day – Term 2
  • Cross Country – Term 2

These carnivals allow students to develop athletic skills, compete for Family Team points, and build resilience and school spirit.
