Chiara iCentre

Chiara iCentre – A Light for Learning

Named in honour of St Clare of Assisi, the Chiara iCentre – with Chiara meaning "light" – is a welcoming hub of curiosity, creativity and connection at the heart of our College.

Supporting our mission to Embrace, Embody and Empower, the iCentre is more than just a library – it’s a dynamic learning environment where students of all ages are encouraged to think deeply, explore widely and develop a lifelong love of learning.

A Space that Inspires

From Prep to Year 12, students enjoy access to:

  • Chess Club and an Interschool Puzzle Club, fostering strategic thinking and collaboration
  • Celebrations like Book Week and National Simultaneous Storytime, which build community through storytelling and imagination
  • A wide selection of resources that support the academic, spiritual, creative and recreational interests of every learner
  • Specialist programs that develop strong research, digital literacy and study skills
Our team works in partnership with teaching staff to support the curriculum, offer targeted learning programs and cultivate confident, independent learners.

A Place with Purpose

The Chiara iCentre began in a single room in 2005 and has since grown into a purpose-built facility, officially opened in 2009 and blessed by the Archbishop of Brisbane. In 2011, it evolved into the Chiara iCentre, bringing together library, information, and IT services for the whole College community.

Today, Chiara continues to be a place where students gather, grow and are guided – a true light for learning at Assisi Catholic College.

Access and Hours

The Chiara iCentre is open Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.30pm.
