Religious Education

Religion at Assisi Catholic College combines the classroom teaching of Religion with the Religion that happens outside of the classroom incorporated in the Religious Life of the School.  Whilst our Religious Education Curriculum follows the Brisbane Archdiocesan guidelines, we inspire our students to live as a part of the larger Franciscan Family by modelling ourselves on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, along with our patron saints, St Francis and St Clare of Assisi. Assisi Catholic College fosters and encourages reflection and prayer in the lives of all students. Our retreats and spirituality days for all year levels offer an opportunity for this reflection and faith formation, as well as an opportunity to, learn more of our Franciscan story.  Our student faith groups meet weekly for those wishing to share and grow in the Christian faith in fun and innovative ways.   As a school in the Franciscan tradition, we understand that a just society is built on love, compassion, peace and stewardship of creation.   We practice justice within our own community through the embedding of Catholic Social Teachings across all areas of the curriculum.  Our actions for justice demonstrate our commitment to the poor and marginalised and some of these actions include Project Compassion Fundraising, Rosie's Van, Immersion to Cambodia and collections for St Vincent's Christmas Appeal.
