FAQs

What is Reader's Cup?

Readers cup is a book quiz competition.

Students read a selection of books throughout the term and then, on a designated day, are asked a series of questions in a similar format to a trivia quiz.

Our College competes in the Gold Coast Catholic Primary Schools competition and the Children's Book Council - Queensland Branch competition.

What are Literature Circles?

Literature Circles are a reading activity held each year in a number of year levels.  Students are able to choose a book from a given selection which they will read during a set time.  Popular titles have included:

  • Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz
  • Painted Love Letters by Catherine Bateson
  • The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne
  • Ice Station by Matthew Reilly

Students discuss their books within groups and create items of work which complement their understanding of the novels.
